The final stage of cherry production: every detail counts
“The cherry trees are in the final stage of growth and fruit ripening. The goal is to produce fruit that is appealing to the market and offers high value to the grower.”
At this critical stage of the cherry season, the fruits have already taken shape but need support to reach their full potential in terms of size, texture, and sweetness. Small decisions made at this time have a direct impact on the quality and commercial value of the crop.

Foliar nutrition: grow, resist, and sweeten
“For foliar application, I recommend Vitol, Calcium and Super K." These three products work together to support the final development of the cherry:
Vitol – stimulates fruit development by activating the plant's natural processes;
Calcium – strengthens the firmness of the cherry's skin;
Super K – supports fruit filling and improves sugar transport.
“With this treatment, we promote the production of the hormone responsible for cell expansion – gibberellin – (Vitol), we provide rigidity to the cell wall (Calcium) and promote fruit expansion and sugar transport (Super K).”
The choice of these products aims to ensure cherries with good size, firmness, and flavor. They are all formulated with microcarbon technology, which, as Vanessa mentions: “Complexes the nutrients, enhances their transport within the plant, and promotes rapid assimilation.” In other words, the effects are felt more quickly, and the plant makes better use of the applied resources.

When the cherry starts to change color: prevention is protection
As some varieties begin to change color, the risks increase: the fruit's epidermis becomes more fragile, and exposure to rain or humidity can cause significant losses.
“In varieties that start to change color, in order to prevent cracking and the proliferation of fungi due to rain, I recommend Vegetal B60, Calcium and Silprotect.” In this case, the focus shifts to protecting the fruit:
Vegetal B60 – with glycine betaine, an osmotic regulator that protects the plant against abiotic stresses and maintains the elasticity of the epidermis;
Calcium – maintains the firmness of the epidermis;
Silprotect – with systemic silicon is a perfect elicitor in the prevention against pathogenic agents.
The application of these products helps minimize losses due to cracking and reduce the risk of fungal infections.
Fertigation in cherry trees: taking care of the roots and the soil
At this stage, it is also important to maintain the balance of the soil and the roots, ensuring that the plant continues to absorb everything it needs until harvest. “Through fertigation, I bet on Mycoup and in Vitasoil.” Vanessa highlights two key products:
Mycoup – a mycorrhiza-based product: “It is an endomycorrhiza that establishes a symbiotic relationship with the plant, where the plant provides sugars to the mycorrhiza and the mycorrhiza provides more water and nutrients through root extension.”
Vitasoil – a cocktail of beneficial microorganisms: “They promote the increase of the beneficial microbial population and the solubilization of nutrients present in the soil.”
This approach via fertigation in cherry trees supports both the root system and the fertility and biological activity of the soil, promoting more balanced plants and fruits of higher quality.
