Product
Baslact Plus is a solution based on fermented Lactobacillus, chitosan hydrochloride, and horsetail (Equisetum arvense).

Methodology
On January 26, 2023, Lane Late variety oranges were treated by drenching with 500 liters of solution before being placed in a cold storage room. Three distinct treatments were performed:
T0: Complete chemical treatment with four active substances at the recommended dose.
T1: Treatment with Baslact Plus (1.5L/hL).
T2: Treatment with Baslact Plus (1.5L/hL) + four active substances at 30% of the recommended dose.
After one week in cold storage, the fruit was kept at room temperature for 7 days to simulate the “shelf-life“. The fruits were then evaluated and photographed for recording development and presence of diseases.
Results and Discussion
The results showed that in T1 there was a higher rate of rot (8%), followed by T0 (1%). The T2 modality showed no development of fungi.
The use of only Baslact Plus in the post-harvest treatment was not able to ensure a minimum acceptable decay rate for the producer (2%).
It is necessary to conduct studies with higher concentrations of Baslact Plus to investigate whether, under these conditions, it is possible to have less post-harvest decay.
However, its use in conjunction with the reduced chemical treatment at 70% (T2) had a synergistic and very positive effect.
Decay Rate
Modality T0 (100% chemical treatment), sample of 100 fruits conditioned in a box simulating supermarket conditions, where one fruit with decay was recorded (photograph from February 16, 2023)
Modality T1 (Only Baslact Plus), sample of 100 fruits conditioned in a box simulating supermarket conditions, where eight fruits with decay were recorded (photograph from February 22, 2023)
Modality T2 (Baslact Plus+30% chemical treatment), sample of 100 fruits conditioned in a box simulating supermarket conditions, where no fruits with decay were recorded (photograph from February 22, 2023)
Thus, in light of the results, it is understood that it is possible to reduce the use of active substances in post-harvest treatments of citrus, var. Lane Late, in the case of using together the Baslact Plus (1.5L/hL).
