Methodology

The sample was taken from an area of 4.8 m2 in the treated plot and 4.8m in the untreated plot, in two repetitions. The planting density was 2000 Kg/ha, in sandy soil, with a pivot irrigation system.

The product Utrisha N was applied via foliar, at a rate of 333 g/ha, at 32 and 56 days post-planting (March 30 and April 13, 2022), during phases of strong vegetative growth and high nitrogen needs.

In the 'Control' plot, the product was not applied for comparison purposes. Both plots received the same fertilization, both base and top.

For visual recording purposes, the treated and untreated plants were observed every 15 days. On the day of harvest (June 23), the produced potatoes were harvested, counted, and weighed. The production per hectare (ha) was estimated, considering the commercially valuable potatoes.

This demonstration aims to evaluate the effect of Utrisha N on potato production. It is concluded that the plants treated with Utrisha N produced more potatoes (+5.1%, and although they had a slightly lower individual weight than those in the 'Control' plot, in the end, they represented an increase in production of more than 3 tons per hectare. Considering the reference price of potatoes – which is 0.232€/kg – and the application cost of Utrisha N , which is around 94€/ha, the producer had a profitability of over 690€/ha in the treated plot.

The application of Utrisha N increased potato production by an additional 3 metric tons per hectare, resulting in higher yields for the farmer.

The averages of the farms reflect the edaphoclimatic context and particular cultural practices of that plot. This farm produced an average of 50 tons per hectare.

In summary, due to the application of Utrisha N there was a Production Difference (kg/ha) of +3000 kg and a Profitability Difference (€/ha) of +696€.
