Methodology
The Vitol, Breakout and the Super K were applied via foliar on 18 trees, at a dose of 250+250+200 mL/hL, respectively, during the petal drop phase. For fruit development, 250 + 250+250 mL/hL were applied, respectively. In the ‘Control’ plot, the products were not applied.
To compare the results obtained, photographic records were made, measurement of the caliber over time, and weighing of fruit in each modality. At harvest, ºBrix and fruit hardness were also measured, with a refractometer and a penetrometer, respectively.
Results and Discussion
On the day of harvest (August 22), the average sizes of the ‘Treated’ and ‘Control’ fruits was 62.8 mm, with no statistical difference. Still, despite the size being similar, the variance was greater in the ‘Control’ modality, indicating that the uniformity was higher among the ‘Treated’ fruits.

Although the average size, hardness (5.6), and ºBrix (12º) showed no differences at harvest, the fruit production was 56% higher in the ‘Treated’ modality compared to the ‘Control’ (table). Thus, the plants in the ‘Treated’ plot had a greater capacity to support a higher fruit load by distributing nutrients more efficiently among the fruits, without compromising quality (size, ºBrix, and Hardness).
In conclusion, the application of the products Vitol, Breakout and Super K was successful as it ensured a greater number of fruits with the same quality as in the Control (size, ºBrix, and Hardness) as well as greater uniformity among them, which ultimately increased production.
